Freedom Will Conquer Racism |
Another Example that Bush Needs a Response Person to Answer Schumer’s False Statements Senator Charles Schumer boycotted the speech by Iraq’s Prime Minister to Congress yesterday even though even Nancy Pelosi changed her mind and attended the event where Maliki was given a “standing ovation from a full chamber,” wrote the Times. However, the Times noted that some Democrats who attended did not hide their disdain. It cited Sen. Harry Reid, the Democratic leader, who leaned down in the front row and tied his shoe to indicate his boredom. Sen. Schumer told the Times he boycotted the event because the Prime Minister “refused to speak out against Hesbollah or to say that he did not support amnesty for insurgents who have attacked American troops.” During a visit later in the day to Fort Belvoir with the President “and other leaders,” the Times reported that the Prime Minister “thanked American troops and said he appreciated those who had lost their lives for Iraq.” But Schumer did not hear because he is using this as a political theater in order to elect more Democrats to the Senate this year. |
