NEWS ITEM:  Major political figures celebrate at State Sen. Jarrett Barrios' "wedding" to another man  [Boston Globe–Nov. 22]  We hate to even show this because it illustrates just how profoundly the Massachusetts political establishment has caved in to this state-sanctioned depravity.  At least the Globe spared us from printing any photos.

The following day the Globe did another article discussing how Sen. President Travaglini and other guests had actually voted for the constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.  From that article:

Those who attended the weekend wedding of state Senator Jarrett T. Barrios and political consultant Doug Hattaway said that Senate President Robert E. Travaglini gave a beautiful and moving toast at the couple's reception. The Senate president described the gay couple and their two adopted sons as a true family, in a speech that state Representative Michael E. Festa, also a wedding guest, called "an extraordinary statement of support."  . . .

Other state senators who voted for the constitutional amendment banning gay marriage also celebrated Saturday with the couple: Ways and Means chairwoman Therese Murray, of Plymouth; Stephen A. Baddour of Methuen; Joan M. Menard of Fall River; and Frederick E. Berry of Peabody. None returned calls yesterday.

If nothing else, it shows just how completely out of touch with reality – and with the population – these elected officials have become.  The citizens NEED to send them a message, and that's what we'll be doing!

NEWS ITEM:  "Priest asks lawmaker to quit choir post – views on abortion, gay marriage cited"  [Boston Globe–Nov. Nov. 17]  Some GOOD news for a change!!.  A Massachusetts religious leader takes his church and religion seriously, and does the right thing.  State Rep. Barbara L'Italien is as horrible as they come, actively supporting homosexual marriage, abortion, and in general any culture-of-death issue she can find.  But she still claims to be a "good Catholic."  Rev. William M. Clearly sees it differently, and acted on principle.

NEWS ITEM:  "No court ruling on same-sex marriage – US justices won't hear Mass. case  [Boston Globe–Nov. 30]  Last May, eleven Massachusetts reps & senators, along with the Catholic Action League, began a lawsuit to overturn the SJC same-sex marriage decision, on the basis that it violated the separation of powers mandated in the US Constitution.  It lost in the lower courts, and on Monday the US Supreme Court refused to hear the case.  The lesson here, unfortunately, is: don't depend on courts to undo the damage of other courts.  We need to roll up our sleeves and do it ourselves.

===  1.  Bills being filed in Legislature for upcoming session.  ===

For the past several days Article 8 Alliance has been "working the State House" getting our bills (and Senate and House sponsors) ready for the Dec. 1 deadline.  (Actually, the bills must be filed by Dec. 1 but we have until Dec. 15 to add co-sponsors.)  Monday and Tuesday we went door to door in the State House, meeting with the Legislators and their staffs personally.

It's always an interesting experience.  But this time things are noticeably different.  On one hand, there seems to be a sense – especially with their being a new pro-gay leadership and the Governor wanting to look "moderate" – that the homosexual lobby is a juggernaut that's almost unstoppable.  It's depressing to many pro-family reps.  (So we try to cheer them up!)

Effect of Nov. 2 elections

On the other hand, back last January and February we were barely tolerated when we went to legislators looking for support.  But now legislators and their staffs were very, very friendly as soon as we introduced ourselves.  Our participation in elections where we stopped incredibly well-funded and well-organized homosexual challengers seems to have gotten noticed.  There's a growing sense in many circles that because of our presence, legislators can now be bolder in standing up to the homosexual lobby.  And that if things get hot, we won't back down.

The Bill of Address

We'll talk more in Thursday's email about the new bills we're filing.  But one of them, of course, is the Bill of Address (it's on our home page).  And Rep. Emile Goguen, of course, is as courageous as ever, willing to stand in the front of the line and be the lead sponsor.

You may remember that last spring when Rep. Goguen originally filed the bill of address, the main homosexual lobbyist, Arlene Isaacson, was furious.  She went right into Goguen's office and promised him that she would see that he's defeated in November.  Well, it didn't quite happen.  The homosexuals put up a candidate and spent tons and tons of money, brought in people, etc.  We came in and helped Goguen.  In the end, Rep. Goguen won with 71% of the vote!

But there are rumors, which we've heard from two or three sources, that the leadership of the Legislature thinks they can hold up the bill of address, as a "deal" to the pro-gay reps in exchange for not allowing a vote on repeal of the law restricting keeping out-of-state homosexuals from "marrying" here.  Just rumors . . . but as you know they never asked us, and we're not in the mood for any shady deals.

We'll keep you up to date as things happen . . .

===  2.  Homosexual activists hold strategy at forum in downtown hotel.  ===

On Thursday evening, Nov. 18,, as reported in the media (and in our previous emails) the homosexual activists had a gala "public forum" at the Colonnade Hotel downtown to celebrate the one-year anniversary of their dreadful court ruling.

Their forum was billed as "the latest analysis about where we go from here – both in Massachusetts and across the country"  and it certainly was enlightening.  A lot of people went, and several took notes and picked up flyers and handouts.  Pretty much all their leadership was there, and outlined and explained their upcoming strategies.  You really have to see this.

We had promised you a full report in our last email.  But we got more stuff to sort through than we expected, and it's taking us longer than we planned to put it all together, with everything else going on this past week.  We PROMISE to have it by Monday's email!

===  3.  New email update schedule.  ===

We're going to get on track to our new publishing schedule.  >From now through December, we'll be sending out two email updates per week – on Monday and Thursday.  We know our credibility is a little thin regarding making our 6:00 pm deadlines, but we're going to improve, we promise!

[We mistakenly gave the wrong link to this in our last email – so we're repeating this]

Worth looking at.  TV NEWS CLIP OF NOV 18 ARTICLE 8 PRESS CONFERENCE::  CHANNEL 5 COVERAGE (Nov. 18, evening):  Most of the major TV stations covered our press conference, but this was among the best.  An interesting juxtaposition:  first they show us, then they interview Senate President Travaglini talking about how he believes "most citizens" would not support removing the judges because they "were doing their jobs."

AS WE’VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG – IT’S UP TO THE PEOPLE NOW!  THIS CAN AND WILL BE WON.
