At Article 8 Alliance
Press Conference: Chief
Justice Margaret Marshall symbolically burns the Massachusetts Constitution!
At high noon, on Thursday, Nov. 18,
at the Lexington Battle Green, exactly one year after the infamous court
ruling was announced, Article 8 Alliance held a press conference to
denounce the odious ruling and tell the world that the fight for justice
would continue even stronger.
As part of our press conference, a
woman dressed as Margaret Marshall stood before the TV cameras, news
photographers, and reporters and symbolically burned a copy of the Massachusetts
Constitution! It was a
stark reminder Marshall's contempt for our laws and her willingness
to disregard our basic legal foundations in favor of selfish, radical
social engineering.
The press, we believe, got the message.
And so did citizens across Massachusetts.
[NOTE: We know that in our previous email we
had discussed how left-wing anarchists sometimes even light themselves
on fire. They're enraged,
and crazy. After a lot
of thought, this action seemed appropriate.
And everyone, including the press, understood this in its proper
perspective.]
PICTURES: See
pictures of the press conference & event at Lexington Battle Green.
Also of note, as shown in our pictures: The local pro-gay Unitarian Church in
Lexington obviously heard of our press conference. So in true "tolerant" fashion they came
and tried to disrupt our event.
The church's senior minister, Rev. William Clark, along with
two Lexington School Committee members who belong to the church, and
several others, marched right up to our press conference and yelled
and screamed, and tried to drown out our speeches.
They were unsuccessful, but it was an absolutely disgraceful
display intolerant, undemocratic, and just plain childish behavior.
In other words, the usual.
. . . And, of course, the Lexington
Police, who had made a big deal that they needed to be present for "public
safety" (after having made it perfectly clear that we weren't welcome),
just stood by, watched, and did nothing.
(Well, that's not entirely true; they did sneer at us.)
But no matter. We got the job done!
Also, standouts on the highways. As far as we can tell, a LOT of people
across the state were out on overpasses.
It was great!
A sample of the press
coverage of the Article 8 event:
We definitely got the word out . .

NEWS ITEM: "Gay-marriage backers, opponents vow fights"
[Boston Globe–Nov. 19]
They gave the homosexual activists the lead part of the article
(after all, this IS the Globe) but at least they couldn't ignore us
completely this time. (There was also a BIG picture in the paper
of our event.)

Worth looking at. TV NEWS CLIP:: CHANNEL
5 COVERAGE (Nov. 18, evening):
Most of the major TV stations covered our press conference, but
this was among the best. An
interesting juxtaposition: first
they show us, then they interview Senate President Travaglini talking
about how he believes "most citizens" would not support removing the
judges because they "were doing their jobs."

=== 2. Growing media bias – Associated Press.
===
Many of you may remember that a few
years back when the big battle was in Vermont, over the civil union
issue. The most blatant cheerleader for the homosexual
movement was the Vermont Associated Press office. The stuff they came out with was so unbelievably
slanted that all you could do was sit back and laugh.
Well, here in Massachusetts, the Associated
Press seems to be sliding down that same slope. Check out these "news" items published
in conjunction with the one year anniversary:
"Small joys, political
obstacles, one year after landmark decision" [Nov. 17] Shameless puff piece celebrating lesbian
marriages. Starts out "Newlyweds
Gail and Betsy Leondar-Wright now walk hand-in-hand with a greater sense
of entitlement."
Click
here to read the article.
"Conservatives urge
closer look at marriage" [Nov. 21] Underlying theme of the article is – yet
again – the popular gay-rights canard that since normal marriages can
have lots of problems, than homosexual "marriages" are probably an improvement
for society. And, of course,
we're the real obstacles to progress because we're just so backwards
and refuse to listen to reason.

(Don't bother trying to talk to them
about it. Like most mainstream
media reporters, they already know they're much smarter than you are.)
=== 3. New email update schedule.
===
From now through December, we're going
back to two email updates per week, from three. This week, we'll send our second update
out on Wednesday. After
that we'll be publishing on Monday and Thursday. We know our credibility is a little thin
regarding making our 6:00 pm deadlines, but we're going to improve,
we promise!
=== 4. Coming up: Homosexual activists reveal strategy at
forum in downtown hotel. ===
This past Thursday evening, as mentioned
in the Globe article (and in our previous emails) the homosexual activists
had a gala "public forum" at the Colonnade Hotel downtown to celebrate
the one-year anniversary of their dreadful court ruling.
Their forum was billed as "the latest
analysis about where we go from here – both in Massachusetts and across
the country" and it certainly
was enlightening. A lot
of people went, and several took notes and picked up flyers and handouts. Pretty much all their leadership was there,
and outlined their upcoming strategies. In general, pretty gross stuff.
We'll have a full report in our Wednesday
email.
