Boston Globe has become. Conservatives
(and Article 8) regularly have protests all over the place, sometimes
with hundreds of people, at all kinds of locations, that never get covered
by the Globe. But two dozen
“higher education activists” (a pet cause of the Globe lefties) are PLANNING
a protest, and their news staff gets right to work! Click

=== Preparing
to file bills for the upcoming legislative session! ===
On January 1, a new two-year legislative session
begins. About a month before each session starts
(i.e., every two years) bills to be taken up during that session must
be filed. This year, the
deadline for filing is December 1 – about three weeks from today.
Article 8 Alliance will be working
with pro-family legislators to file key bills:
We are also working on another pro-marriage
bill, which we’ll let you know about soon.
Do any of you have any other ideas
for needed pro-family legislation? This is the time to not only think about
it, but start taking action! If
you have any ideas, let us know right away. Maybe there are things we haven’t thought
of that are extremely necessary.
Writing a bill properly, and getting
it introduced, can be very tricky, but we have written successful legislation
in the past, and we also have experts we can call on.
(It’s possible to get your own rep
to submit a bill. But those
are generally called “courtesy” bills are often not taken seriously.)
So let’s hear your ideas.
After Dec. 1, it will be much more
difficult to get bills filed, particularly those that the new leadership
doesn’t like.
BY THE WAY, KEEP IN MIND
that the left-wing special interests, and the homosexuals in particular,
will be flooding the Legislature with their own bills.
That’s their modus operendi, and we don’t we do it enough. However, if the past is any measure, their
bills will fall into two general categories: (1) Trojan-horse legislation that looks
reasonable in its wording, but is actually quite dangerous. Planned Parenthood does this a lot to
slip in more taxpayer-funded pro-abortion sex-ed into schools. And (2) lots of completely loopy or outrageous
bills that they file on the outside hope that they can force one of them
through if they try hard enough.
The Buffer Zone law, passed a few years ago, was one of those that
eventually got up enough steam to pass. The gays file a lot of these kinds
of bills. For example, each
the last several sessions they filed some form of civil unions bill, which
always fell flat on its face. Then,
of course, they struck gold with the SJC.
But we’ll surely see a lot more from the gays, you can be sure. As usual, we’ll have our work cut out
for us to keep any of it from getting through.
