One Victory in Eight Races in Open Seats
   The
two professionals at the Article 8 Alliance, Brian Camenker and
Jim Lafferty, wisely spent their time with the seven incumbents
who were targeted by the homosexual activists.
   The eight candidates who battled
for eight seats that were open (due to the retirement of incumbents)
were on their own because of the lack of money to help them at Article
8. One of the eight was victorious, two did well enough to run again
next time, two were supported by Gov. Romney and were soundly defeated,
two did not go above 40% and one volunteer Republican ran a nondescript
race without even mentioning marriage and only garnered 33%.
The one victor was Richard Ross (R-Wrentham) who won the
House seat being vacated by the new Senator Scott Brown.
The next best showing was on the Cape where Richard
Neitz lost a 49%-51% squeaker to a pro-homosexual candidate.
There was a strong showing
in Sen. David Magnani’s old district in the Framingham/Hopkinton
area where Republican Jim
Coffey obtained 43% of the vote against Rep. Karen Spilka who
was running for this Senate seat.
Gov. Romney and the Republican Party had
some failures in these open seats, the worst being in the Boston
race for the seat of the retiring Paul Demakis. The Governor and
the Party endorsed an open homosexual, Richard
Babson, who went down to a disastrous defeat.
The Governor and the
Party also lost where Robi
Blute, wife of former Congressman, Peter Blute attempted to
please everyone and went down 31%-61%.
