Homosexual Activists Fail to Defeat Incumbents Who Are
Battling Gay Marriage Despite Spending Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars
in Futile Attempt; Seven Were Targeted
The homosexual
activists who named and targeted seven incumbents a month ago failed to
defeat any of them in yesterday’s election, which sent the strong ---
but unintended message --- that any legislator can vote as he wishes on
gay marriage without fear of reprisal.
But homosexual activists did
demonstrate that some of them will fight dirty and nasty, even breaking
the law with physical violence if the police permit that.
Six of the seven who were
targeted were easily reelected, while the police in Somerville looked
the other way as Rep. Vinnie Ciampa battled the homosexual, Carl Sciortino,
who is challenging him. The Rep’s uncle was rushed to the hospital late
in the day after a confrontation with Sciortino supporters.
Because Ciampa is no longer
the legal owner of the title after being defeated in the primary by a
razor-thin margin, causing him to run a sticker campaign, the media did
not treat this as a contested race and has not yet posted the vote count
for each.
The count will probably remain
in doubt for the next 10 days while lawyers examine each ballot. Rep.
Ciampa said the outcome will remain up in the air until the stickered
voting forms have been inspected. But there was little doubt in his mind
about the conduct of his opponent and his supporters at polling places
in Somerville and Medford.
Dirtiest Campaign Ever Seen
“Sciortino and his
crowd displayed the dirtiest campaign that I have ever seen,” Ciampa told
his supporters in a crowded Medford restaurant.
“They blocked you,” one Ciampa
poll worker said. “You would be trying to answer a question from
someone and they would step in front of you or bump into you. They
were really brazen and did everything they could to harass and intimidate
you.
“The cops just watch.”
Thelma Ciampa, the representative’s
wife, echoed her husband’s sentiment. “These are the nastiest, angriest
group of people I have ever seen. They kept saying to me ‘How
does it feel to sleep with a gay basher, a homophobe?’ I have never seen
anything like it.”
Same Dirty Tricks as “Blockers”
in 2002
James Lafferty,
a consultant with the Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage, said the homosexual
lobby is up to the same dirty tricks it pulled during the fight over the
Protection of Marriage Amendment in 2002.
“They blocked people trying
to sign a petition. They followed them to their cars and bumped
into them. They didn’t care if these were older women – they roughed
them up.
“Representative Ciampa and
his supporters received a first-hand experience today in what it is to
deal with thugs who have no respect for the law or representative government.
Politically, they have intimidated most of the lawmakers, many of the
judges and the police are afraid to enforce even the most basic laws against
them.
“Representative Ciampa, his
wife and his supporters, showed a great deal of courage in standing up
to them – that is a lot more than most lawmakers, judges and law enforcement
people will do.
“The ballots should be examined
carefully because the tentacles of the
homosexual lobby reach into every corner of Massachusetts government.
They lie and the government officials just nod.”
