What Really Happened at the State House on 7/17

Sen. Birmingham was visibly jolted by jeers and cries of "No!" that thundered at him from the hundreds of pro-marriage spectators in the gallery after he quickly postponed the Marriage Amendment in June.

Hurry! More guards... more guards... more guards...
A startled Senator Birmingham had heard about the "peasants revolt" when he studied at Oxford. Therefore, he kept calling more guards to defend his door from all those respectable, middle-class peasants when he saw that they were revolting in Boston.

ACLU Defends Sex in Public Park

The ACLU went to court in Detroit this year to defend homosexuals who were having sex in a public park. The lawyers say that constitutional rights were violated when the public sex was forbidden. A spokesman said the anonymous, multiple partner activity is the only way these men can have contact with other men.

Hidden Camera Told Truth About ACLU Violation of Constitutional Rights

If there had not been a hidden camera in a van, the ACLU would be denying all of this. (They will probably sue us now for "invading their privacy" by taking pictures of their violating the US Constitution.)

One of their lawyers, Norma Shapiro, said last year that she trained many of the blockers in addition to participating on squads herself. She told Bay Windows that she trained volunteers not to interrupt people while they're speaking, to talk politely and to remind potential signers to read what they're signing. "I have real confidence in the people that we've trained. I don't believe there's been anything confrontational to the point where anybody's been upset about it," she said.

These pictures tell the real story.

Can't Favor Only Homosexuals

If anyone wishes to argue that the state should not enter into marriage in any way, he could have a sound intellectual discussion. Most of us would not agree with him, but at least he would be making sense. But if he merely opines that homosexuals should be allowed to marry also, he is merely being cute and probably violating the U. S. Constitution, many lawyers report. Why is he picking out just homosexuals? Does he believe that men who have multiple wives should also be allowed to marry? Or how about women in group sex? How about heterosexual couples who want the benefits without the burdens of marriage? We are not allowed to favor just one group, according to the lawyers.

Abuses by Blockers Acknowledged

A spokesman told Bay Windows last November that the accusations of abuse by the ACLU blockers "may" have some basis. Bay Windows reported: "The Campaign for Equality is documenting the numerous reports of such abuses it has received. While such accusations are difficult to prove, they may have some basis in fact."

Does It Matter if Marriage Makes People Healthier and Happier?

The Alternatives to Marriage Project spends a lot of its time rejecting the studies which show that married people are happier and healthier than unmarried ones. But it misses the entire point.
There would not be an institution of marriage if people were just trying to be happy and healthy. The purpose of marriage is to protect, nurture and love the children who are usually born from such a union.
