The following survey about
children will be delivered to each Senator and Representative
at the State House today by volunteers from Mass.
Citizens for Marriage.
Many legislators have already
been surveyed this week by their constituents to determine
what they believe about raising children. Those Senators
and Reps who were not personally contacted will be
given a survey today which they can complete and return
to MCM.
The results from each legislator
will be publicized by MCM across the state, including
whether he or she refused to complete the survey.
The solons have been asked
to return the survey to MCM by noon on Monday, July
29. The results will be published on Tuesday, July
30.
MCM
Survey of Legislators - July 2002
Whatever you personally
believe it was who made us -- whether God or an evolutionary
force -- we have two sexes. We assume that the God
or the force who made us knew what they were doing
and made both sexes with a purpose.
AGREE ____________ DISAGREE__________________
It is self-evident that
in making both men and women, the creator made both
mothers and fathers.
AGREE_____________ DISAGREE_____________________
If we believe that men
and women are the same and are interchangeable as
caretakers of children, it would appear that we are
heading down a road that is in conflict with our creator
AGREE_____________ DISAGREE_____________________
Many believe we're heading
down that road and that, as a result, we are seeing
the damage that children suffer if they do not have
the love of both a mother and a father.
(This does not mean it is not possible for a child
to be raised by one parent, just as many people overcome
all types of handicaps, but it is not the desired
norm of our creator - whether that creator be a force
or a God. It is also obvious that many people are
substandard. If those people are also parents, the
child does not do as well as if it has outstanding
parents.)
AGREE____________ DISAGREE________________________
The Massachusetts legislators
have not been allowed to discuss any of the above
undeniable facts. They are being prevented from debating
this core issue of our world.
AGREE____________ DISAGREE_______________________
This destruction of our
democratic process must not be permitted to destroy
a discussion about the core of our existence.

Will you urge Sen.
Birmingham to call for a vote on the Protection of
Marriage Amendment?
