Pro-Lifers Call for Brown’s Removal

As Catholic Charities worker Howard M. Brown escorted more than thirty women into Planned Parenthood for abortions one Saturday morning in Boston, pro-lifers on the sidewalk outside the clinic expressed their outrage and called for Brown’s dismissal.

Ruth Schiavone, Norwood. I can’t believe it. I would like to think that Catholic Charities didn’t fully investigate his background. Once they find out, there should be no question about the fact that he must be dismissed from his position; No question about it. If he isn’t dismissed, we should bring it to the attention of the Cardinal, and from there to the National Conference of Catholic Bishops or something like that. I think something definitely should be done. He’s been an aggressive escort as well. Just the fact that he’s undercover, so to speak. A counselor at Catholic Charities when he is escorting women into abortion clinics!

Gerald Benitz, Harvard. It’s terrible. The Cardinal should have him removed right away. I hope you can inform the Cardinal so that the man can be taken out of his position, because he’s out here at Planned Parenthood.

John Cronin, North Andover. With all that the church is going through these last few days, this is one more headache that the Cardinal should address. That man should certainly not be working for Catholic Charities. He should absolutely be dismissed.

Tom Hamill, Braintree. I think it’s the duty of Catholic Charities to remove him. There should be no problem doing that because he is working for an organization that murders unborn children. He can’t work for an organization that is out to save the lives of unborn children when he’s in there working for an organization that kills them.

Alisha Onsager, Shirley. I don’t think it’s right for a man that works for Catholic Charities counseling women to be working at an abortion clinic.

Bob Mayo, Lowell. Howard Brown has been out here for many years. I think it’s disgusting. It’s a terrible thing that he would be working for the church and yet spending his free time coming down here to Planned Parenthood to help kill babies.

I think the archdiocese should be notified and put the ball in their court. He should be fired immediately from his position. You are for life or you’re for the culture of death. You can’t be for both. As far as I’m concerned, he infiltrated the Archdiocese of Boston and that should be put to an immediate stop. If it means notifying the bishop or Cardinal Law or whoever is in charge of Catholic Charities, that should be done.

Theresa Johnson, Wayland. I think it’s just horrible. I think someone who works for Catholic Charities could not in good conscience work for Planned Parenthood. Their plan is to make families smaller and they promote abortion. It’s not compatible. The Catholic Church should have him fired. He should no longer work for Catholic Charities.

Joseph F. Cavanaugh, Wellesley. It’s pretty pathetic to think that a person who is employed by Catholic Charities would be working as an escort at Planned Parenthood, which stands for everything that the church is in opposition to. I think because this man is working for Planned Parenthood, he should not be working for the church. He should be fired.

Jane Finn, Wilmington. I think it’s sick. It’s a contradiction of everything we stand for. He’s supposed to be representing Catholic Charities? Get rid of him. How dare he be here? He should lose his job.
